Chess In Concert

The performance will take place in English.

Following a resounding success with four sold-out nights at Dalhalla in the summer of 2025, it is now confirmed that the acclaimed concert version will return to Dalhalla for one exclusive evening this summer. On August 9, 2026, the audience will have one final opportunity to experience Chess in Concert at Sweden’s most magnificent outdoor stage.

Last summer, Dalhalla was filled to the very last seat with four completely sold-out performances. The interest was immense, the audience response overwhelming – and the success has now been officially recognized with a nomination in the category Live Experience of the Year at this year’s edition of Dalecarlia Music Awards.

The exclusive concert taking place on August 9, 2026, at Dalhalla will be the only performance of Chess in Concert in Sweden this year. A unique return, strictly limited to one night, one venue, and one single occasion.

In the leading roles, we once again see the acclaimed 2025 cast: Philip Jalmelid in his signature role as Anatoly, Tuva B Larsen as Florence, musical theatre star Peter Johansson as Freddie, Malena Tuvung as Svetlana, and celebrated opera singer Loa Falkman as Molokov. The performance features Dalasinfoniettan as orchestra and choir, conducted by renowned maestro, Anders Eljas.

Chess was created by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, with lyrics by Tim Rice, and premiered in London in 1986. The concert combines musical precision with Dalhalla’s breathtaking natural setting and exceptional acoustics. The result is an award-nominated concert experience of the highest caliber.
