Freddie Mercury would have turned 80 on September 5, 2026. To celebrate his legacy, the tribute concert Freddie 80 Years with Johan Boding – Night of Queen Band & Choir will be held at Dalhalla.
On September 5, 2026, something truly special awaits as Johan Boding and Night of Queen enter Dalhalla for a grand tribute concert honoring Freddie Mercury. Last year marked 50 years since the release of A Night at the Opera, featuring Bohemian Rhapsody, and 40 years since Queen’s legendary performance at Live Aid in 1985. The band was also awarded the Polar Music Prize 2025.
This year, Freddie would have turned 80, and it is also 40 years since Queen’s final major tour with Mercury in 1986. All of this makes the tribute concert Freddie 80 Years feel more timely than ever.
Ten years have passed since Johan Boding presented the acclaimed tribute Freddie 70 Years, which, after an extensive Swedish tour, reached Montreux. As always, Johan Boding is backed by Night of Queen Band & Choir for this dazzling late-summer evening in the limestone quarry.
